Engineering behind Product Development and Prototyping
There are many prototyping services in the country, but how many of them know the engineering behind product development and prototyping? Yes almost 90% of them don't know the engineering behind product development and prototyping.
Prototyping Innovation (Pro-I) which was founded by Engineers know how to create and innovate in the right way. Your ideas will be given lives in our innovation lab in the right way, So feel free to contact us for your innovative ideas and projects.
We are far beyond a normal prototyping and product development studio.
Why prototypes are useful?
- Ability to visualise the
idea
- Ablility to perform tests
including aesthetic test
- Ability to do real time
simulation analysing
What are the prototyping processes available?
- 3D printing
- Resin casting
- Injection molding
- 2D pattern
- CNC machining
3D Printing
Usually people don't consider about the types of 3D printers, instead they simply
categorize all 3D printers under the same group and give the most generic name
3D printers.
But based on their operating principle there are three main types of 3D
printers available in the market and we use all those three for prototyping and product development and lets take look at each one now.
#1 Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM)
This is the common type of 3D printer available in the market.
In this printer a hot filament used and there are several drawbacks in
the finishing of the printed product.
Mainly the build lines are visible and can be felt by touching that
shows the outer finishing is not smooth and at some points there are material overflowed
due the gap the layer.
For initial prototyping based on client requirement we use this type of 3D printing.

#2 Polyject
Here instead of the hot plastic filament a head which like the head in
an inkjet printer, print layers of resins which can be cured by UV light.
There are many advantages of using a Polyjet 3D printer,
It's surface finish is smoother than FDM
Fine details
No build up lines
But, one drawback is the time and it consumes more time than FDM 3D
printer
#3 Stereo lithographic (SLA)
This is the most oldest and most accurate and quality 3D printer in the
industry.
This uses some kind of liquid resins and the quality of the final
product is better than the other two types of printers.
This is the method that we use to make final standard prototype.
